Ask for the production of your driving license
What is it?
You have passed the driving test:
- The driving school gives you a driving license examination certificate (CEPC), which allows you to drive for 4 months from the date of the exam (to be presented with an official identity document, such as a residence permit)
- At the same time, you must request the production of your driving license, valid for 15 years.
Then, it is renewable on the Internet.
How to do it?
You need several documents in digital format (PDF):
- An identity document (residence permit, travel document)
- The driving license examination certificate (CEPC) given by the driving school
- Proof of address less than 6 months old (telephone bill, electricity or gas bill, rent receipt, home insurance certificate)
- ASSR2 or ASR or a sworn statement for the purpose of issuing a first driving license if you are under 21.
- An e-photo (digital signature photo).
You must download the application form (step 2), print it, sign it, and attach the standard ID photo. You can then send everything by post to the address indicated (no tracked or registered letter) on this form.
With the classic ID photo, the processing of your request will take longer.

Go to the website Passing the driving test:
- If you already have an account on this site, click on " Log in " at the top right and enter your login details
- If you don't have an account, click on " Log in " at the top right, then " Create an account "
- You can also connect using your FranceConnect account, if you have already activated this service.

When you are logged in, click on:
- " New request "
- “ Driving license ” then “ I’m starting the application ”
- Reason for request: " I am requesting the production of a driving license document "
- “ Adult ” or “ minor ” depending on your age
- " Passing the driving test "
- “No ” if your request concerns a B permit
- On the medical section, press " yes " only if you have an illness that limits your ability to drive and a medical visit is necessary.
- “ No ” if your request does not concern a heavy category (license C, license D, etc.)
- Finally, “ Next Step ” and complete your personal information.
It will already be filled with your personal information.
The medical certificate must be completed and signed by a doctor approved by your prefecture .
At the end, a summary of your request appears:
- Check the downloaded documents carefully by clicking on the file title
- Modify the information if you made a mistake or forgot a document, using the " Previous step " button.
When all the information is verified, you can validate your request and download proof of deposit.
What happens next?
You can contact the France Titres technical team from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
- by phone at 34 00 (free number)
- or with the contact form (response within 48 hours).
At each important stage of the processing of your request, you will receive an email and a message (if you gave your telephone number when registering).

You will receive your driving license by post directly to your home.
While waiting to receive your license, you can drive legally with the certificate of successful completion of the exam given by the driving school.

The digital driving license does not replace the physical license, but it allows you to have your license on your mobile phone, to facilitate road checks and avoid losing it.
All types of permits (three-part pink or bank card format) are compatible.
To use your digital driving license, you must have a France Identité account and:
- be over 18 years old
- have a new bank card format identity card received after 2021
- have a recent Android or iPhone phone with NFC functionality that allows contactless payments.

3. Tap “scan QR code” and scan the information QR code
4. The driving license is imported onto your phone, you can present it in the event of a check.
