Working quickly in the medical-social sector
Proposed by JRS France Updated on il y a un anThis information sheet applies to refugees who hold a paramedical diploma issued by a country outside the European Union (EU).
Entering certain paramedical professions can take time (3 or 4 years for a nurse, as you have to start all over again from the first year of study). In the meantime, it is possible to enter certain medical and social professions quickly.
There are two types of jobs:
- Jobs that are immediately accessible without training (or training lasting a few hours): hospital service agent, stretcher-bearer, ambulance assistant. While working, it is possible to do a validation of acquired experience (VAE) to obtain a diploma with a view to working as a nursing assistant, home help or childcare assistant.
- Jobs accessible following short training: childcare assistant , social care assistant , or nursing assistant. It is possible not to have to do the training if you obtain the diploma through VAE.
Almost all paramedical training courses require obtaining the Level 2 Emergency Care and Procedures Training Certificate (AFGSU2).
For those who have one of the four medical degrees (doctor, pharmacist, midwife or dental surgeon), it is possible to follow short or accelerated training courses more suited to working quickly:
- There is accelerated training for doctors and midwives to work as nurses .
- Dentists can take accelerated training to work as a dental assistant .
- Pharmacists can work in clinical research.
