What is it?
A Passerelle University Diploma (DU) allows asylum seekers, beneficiaries of subsidiary or temporary protection, refugees and stateless people, to have a better level of French in order to study in France.
This DU Passerelle - Students in Exile training offers:
- French courses,
- Cultural and sporting activities,
- Support to build your university and professional project in France...
There are around 40 similar training courses in France. This sheet presents the training of the Université Lumière Lyon 2 at the International Center for French Studies (CIEF).

Why is it interesting?
In the DU Passerelle - Students in Exile at the Lumière Lyon 2 University, there are 240 hours of French courses per semester. You will have 20 hours of lessons per week, from September to December and/or January to May.
You will take exams to obtain a University Diploma.
During the training, you will discover the university in France: what it is to be a student, how courses and exams are organized, what diplomas and training exist, learn to take notes during classes and review your lessons outside of lectures make presentations, prepare for exams...
The French higher education system is complex.
During the training, professionals individually accompany each student to reflect on their academic and professional project, depending on their possibilities.
The professionals also help you write your CVs and cover letters, and register for the training courses that interest you.

You will have access to different activities during the training:
- cultural outings,
- partnership with the Lumière film festival,
- tandems with students,
- partnership with the Nuits Sonores festival,
- sports activities (tennis, swimming, horse riding, etc.).
