A University Diploma (DU) Passerelle allows asylum seekers, beneficiaries of subsidiary or temporary protection, refugees and stateless persons to have a better level of French to study in France.

This 310-hour training program offers:

  • French lessons,
  • activities,
  • support to build an academic and professional project in France...
The training lasts a minimum of 2 semesters (9 months), from September to June.

Why is it interesting?

In the DU Passerelle at the University of Clermont Auvergne, there are between 222 and 260 hours of French courses per semester.

Depending on your level, you will have between 17 and 20 hours of classes per week.

You will sit exams to obtain a University Diploma.

If you are a beneficiary of international protection or a beneficiary of temporary protection and are under 35 years of age, you can receive financial assistance (scholarships based on social criteria or specific annual aid) every month and accommodation to complete the training.

During the training, you will:

  • Discover university life in France: being a student, how courses and exams are organized, what degrees and courses exist, how to take notes during lectures and revise outside of class, giving presentations, preparing for exams…
  • participate in a University Life module
  • have a sponsorship from a UCA student.

The French higher education system is complex.

During the training, professionals will support you individually to reflect on your academic and professional project, depending on the possibilities.

  • Help with writing a CV and cover letters, and registering for the training courses that interest you
  • Work on the university project supervised by La Fabrique (university service in charge of student integration, guidance or reorientation)
  • Guidance support.

You will have access to different activities during the training course:

  • Computer workshops
  • Cultural activities
  • Sport activities
  • Theater, music and interculturality workshop, etc.

How to do it?

After sending the application, if it is accepted, you will receive an email with an invitation for a test and an interview.
