Why is it interesting?
In the DU PEPS of the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, there are approximately 450 hours of French courses from September to May, with:
- 14 hours of French lessons per week,
- a modern language course (English, Spanish) of 1h30 per week,
- 2 hours of tutoring or homework help per week with French Master students,
- 40 hours of TCF (French Knowledge Test) and DELF (Diploma of Studies in French Language) preparation courses (January and May).
French lessons and homework help take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday in one of the university's centers in Paris. Attendance in class is mandatory.
You will take exams throughout the year to obtain a Passerelle University Diploma and the official DELF and/or TCF exam at the end of the training in May (funded by the university).
During the training, you will discover the university in France: what it is to be a student, how courses and exams are organized, what diplomas and training exist, how to take notes during classes and review them outside of lectures, make presentations, prepare for exams.
Each student has a student card which allows access:
- to the libraries of the University of Paris 1
- to the university health service
- to the university sports service
- to the university information and orientation service
- to the culture service.
The French higher education system is complex.
During the training, professionals individually accompany each student to reflect on the academic and professional project, depending on the possibilities.
Professionals also help you write your CVs and cover letters, and register for the training courses that interest you:
- collective and individual workshops and sessions organized by the UniR association (Universities and Refugees) thanks to a partnership between UniR and Paris 1 University.
- meet with the students to put together a file and help them integrate a Bachelor's or Master's degree at Paris 1 University (or another) after the DU.
In addition to French lessons, you will have access to different activities during the training:
- theater classes (2 hours per week);
- cultural outings (museums, cinema, end-of-year school trip);
