A Passerelle University Diploma (DU) allows asylum seekers, beneficiaries of subsidiary or temporary protection, refugees and stateless persons to have a better level of French in order to study in France.

This 230-hour training program offers:

  • French lessons,
  • Activities,
  • Support for building an academic and professional project in France...
The training lasts a minimum of 1 semester (4 months), from September to December then from January to May.

Why is it interesting?

In the DU Passerelle at the University of Rennes 2, there are approximately 230 hours of French language courses.
You have classes between 16 and 18 hours per week, from 8:30 am to 6 pm.

You will take exams to obtain a University Diploma.

It is also possible to take the DELF exam at the end of the training.

If you are a beneficiary of international protection or a beneficiary of temporary protection and are under 35 years of age, you can receive financial assistance (scholarships based on social criteria or specific annual aid) every month and accommodation to complete the training.

During the training, you will:

  • Discover university life in France: being a student, how courses and exams are organized, what degrees and courses exist, learning to take notes during lectures and revise outside of class, giving presentations, preparing for exams…
  • Have university methodology courses
  • Participate in one course per week in a University Training and Research Unit (UFR), with French students (from level B2).

The French higher education system is complex.

During the training, professionals individually support each student to reflect on their academic and professional project, according to your possibilities.

  • University orientation and career placement courses
  • Access to the University Information and Guidance Service
  • CV and cover letter writing workshops
  • Free support is available through a professional integration association.

You have access to different activities during the training:

  • cultural outings (museums, visits, cultural projects...)
  • artistic workshops (cinema, radio, writing, theatre, concert,...)
  • sports activities offered by the University.

  • University libraries
  • The Student Health Service (social and health service)
  • The Student Life service (reception, information, student support)
  • The Inter-University Service for Physical and Sports Activities
  • The University Information, Guidance and Professional Integration Service
  • The Cultural Service (events, shows, cinema, exhibitions... free).

How to do it?

You will then receive a link by email to log in to the application platform.

Application results are sent between the end of June and the beginning of July to start classes in September.
