What is it?
A Passerelle University Diploma (DU) allows asylum seekers, beneficiaries of subsidiary or temporary protection, refugees and stateless people, to have a better level of French to study in France.
This training offers:
- French courses,
- Cultural and sporting activities,
- Support to build your university and professional project in France...
It offers between 474 hours and 520 hours of lessons per year .
There are around 40 similar training courses in France. This sheet presents the training at the Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale.

Why is it interesting?
In this DU Passerelle, there are 240 hours of French courses. You will have classes approximately 7 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
You will take exams to obtain a University Diploma.
It is possible to take the DELF/TCF B2 at the end of the training with the University of Lille.
During the training, you will discover the university in France: what it is to be a student, how the courses and exams are organized, what diplomas and training exist...
The French higher education system is complex.
During the training, you will have support to think about your university and professional project.
You will have the opportunity to participate in "first job days" organized by the university for all students. The professionals also help you write your CV and cover letters, and register for the training courses that interest you.
You will also have support to use digital resources.
You will have access to different activities during this training:
- cultural: museum visits, oral expression workshop, writing workshop, understanding how Europe works,
- artistic: visits to exhibitions, concerts,
- sports.
How to do it?
Registration conditions: send an email indicating your name, first name, nationality, date of birth and email to virginie.marion@univ-littoral.fr
- Application dates (months in general): March 4 to June 28 + August 19 to September 8.
After sending the application, you will receive an email which will tell you how to submit your application (proof of identity, cover letter, copies of diplomas and transcripts). If your application is successful, you will be invited for an interview. You will then receive an email to let you know if your application has been definitively accepted.
