Volunteering for young people aged 16 to 18

Proposed by JeVeuxAider.gouv.fr Updated on il y a 5 jours

A website for young people who want to volunteer with:

  • missions throughout France, adapted to availability (every week or just once)
  • various activities (nature protection, helping people in difficulty, sports or cultural events, prevention)
  • support from a reference person.
Being a volunteer means giving your time to participate in an activity or a project, without receiving a salary.
To volunteer, you must:
- live in France
- be over 16 years old.

Missions are secured for minors.

Why is it interesting?

Engaging in a volunteer mission allows you to:

  • help an association
  • take action for an important cause (nature, solidarity, sport, animals…)
  • help others (distribute meals, accompany elderly people, do activities with children…).

Being a volunteer brings benefits:

  • for school and work (application file, CV...)
  • on Parcoursup in the "Mon engagement citoyen" section
  • to choose your future career or studies.

For example, if you speak several languages and are interested in the profession of a translator, you can do a volunteer translation mission to use your skills and better understand the job.

At the end of the mission, do not forget to ask for a certificate of participation.

  • Meet other volunteers, residents of your city, professionals, and association leaders.
  • Learn new words, communicate better in different situations.

How to do it?

1. Search the website here

Check that "Open from age 16" is ticked.

You can also choose the city, the activity, the dates and the number of days you are available.

2. Read the page explaining the mission

3. If you are interested in the mission, click on "I offer my help" to contact the association

4. Enter your email address and send a message to the association

5. Your legal representative (parent, guardian…) gives their consent.
