Support in finding and keeping accommodation

With Intermédiation locative

Support at several levels:

  • payment of rent to the association
  • help with procedures (opening gas and electricity meters, change of address, request for financial assistance, etc.)
  • tips for managing the budget
  • information on the rights and obligations of a tenant
  • referral to other structures and services.
Intermédiation locative allows beneficiaries of international protection to have accommodation for a fixed period depending on their needs (6 to 18 months).
At first, an association signs the rental contract, the beneficiary is a sub-tenant of the accommodation and pays the rent directly to the association.
At the end of the support, the beneficiary signs the contract and becomes the tenant of the accommodation.

  • Help and advice on applying for the financial assistance known as Aide personnalisée au logement (APL) (managed by the CAF administration)
  • Orientation to French social security known as l'Assurance Maladie, gas and electricity suppliers, etc.
  • Tips for organizing your budget (paying rent and invoices, etc.) and maintaining your accommodation.

After several months of support, there is a meeting between the beneficiary, the association and the landlord who rents the accommodation.

If the beneficiary is sufficiently independent and knows how to maintain their accommodation, the rental contract is signed in the name of the beneficiary who becomes the tenant.

How to do it?

Your social worker, France Travail advisor, Mission Local contact,... must register you with the reception and orientation service known as Service intégré d'accueil et d'orientation (SIAO).
