Train as an interpreter and mediator (B2 level)

With F.LA.M: Français Langues et Médiation (French Languages and Mediation)

An 8-month program (from November to June) to learn the profession of interpreter and mediator for exiled people with:

- Adapted professional French (level B2): 9 hours per week (specific vocabulary of interculturality, migration, interpreting, mediation, the medical-social field)

- Mediation: 3 hours per week (explanation of the interpreter-mediator profession and skills: understanding others, bilingualism, interculturalism; writing several mediation projects, etc.)

To participate in this program, you must have fully acquired B1 level and have a professional project related to the professions of interpreting, mediation, social work, or welcoming exiled people. You must contact us by phone to take a French level test.
Registration: in September, after passing a level assessment and a motivational interview.
Days of presence: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning.
Registration costs €30 per year, depending on your resources.

Why is it interesting?

A 13-hour training per week established to progress in French language and strengthen professional skills.

  • Interventions by numerous professionals (interpreters, mediators, association members, training managers, transcultural clinic professionals, etc.)
  • Observations in partner structures (day centers, outreach, social services, etc.)
A street patrol is an outing to help homeless people, talk to them, give them food, clothes, or direct them to services.
  • Internships in partner structures.

  • Possibility of joining the University Diploma in Hospitality, Mediations, Migration (DU H2M) at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Inalco) after the program
  • Possibility of integrating a Passerelle University Diploma into a university
  • Possibility of getting directly into the world of work according to the needs of partner structures

In addition to the program, you can participate in:

  • digital workshops (computer use),
  • English courses,
  • cultural visits,
  • health workshops,
  • workshops on foreign law...

If you need help, support is available to:

  • put you in contact with partner structures,
  • help you apply to university,
  • look for an internship, training, a job,
  • carry out administrative procedures (form, file, etc.).
