What is it?
The Mission Locale is an association that welcomes, informs, guides and supports young people aged 16 to 25 who have left the school system.
It supports young people in a number of projects and at several levels:
- finding a job
- finding training
- finding accommodation
- moving to another region
- accessing their rights
- understanding citizenship in France.
Why is it interesting?
The Mission Locale can give you financial aid depending on your situation:
- Driving license and mobility assistance
- FAJ (Youth Assistance Fund)
- FSL (Housing Solidarity Fund).
The CEJ (contrat d'engagement jeune - youth commitment contract) provides personalized support to help young people find a job (permanent or fixed-term contract of 6 months or more) or an apprenticeship, training or integration program. The contract lasts from 6 to 12 months.
This intensive programme (15 to 20 hours per week) enables young people to:
- have a single point of contact and regular one-to-one meetings
- take part in group workshops to share their experiences
- access French language courses
- take part in work placements.
The Mission Locale can help you with your administrative formalities (residence permit, identity papers, etc.). It can also help you open up your healthcare rights and inform you about your rights and duties in France.
