Where is it?
Helping new arrivals learn French
What is it?
Online training, free, short, simple and structuring to help volunteers support newly arrived migrants in their learning of French.
The aim of this MOOC is to provide the essential bases to:
- understand the specificities of migrants and welcome them;
- develop language courses adapted to the various contexts of the stakeholders;
- develop and facilitate oral and written activities based on real life.
The training includes six modules integrating several types of learning materials: video capsules, sitographies, bibliographies, evaluation quizzes, as well as a “Community Space”.
Why is it interesting?
The online training is aimed at anyone wishing to acquire the basics to teach French to migrants in a non-profit environment. Ideas and concrete examples are presented.
No prerequisites are necessary, apart from fluency in French.
All modules are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the session.
You can access it asynchronously and progress at your own pace.
The course has been designed with funding from the Ministry of the Interior. Registration for the MOOC is free, as is the certificate you will receive once you have completed the course.
At the end of each module, a sitography and bibliography are provided for further reading.
