HIV-positive status is not in itself a factor in obtaining asylum in France. On the other hand, under certain conditions, it is quite possible - in parallel with an asylum application - to apply for residence in France on medical grounds because of a pathology whose treatment is not accessible in the country of origin. We can assist you in this process.

Our activists are trained to accompany people applying for residence permits for HIV or hepatitis treatment, and will be able to advise you throughout your application so that it has the best chance of succeeding (documents to collect, arguments to put forward, filling in the application, accompaniment to the prefecture, etc.).

If you do not have the means, AIDES can cover all or part of the cost of buying the tax stamps needed to apply for a residence permit for treatment at the Prefecture.
