The Republican Integration Contract
with the OFII (French Office for Immigraiton and Integration)
What is it?
The Republican Integration Contract (CIR) concerns all non-EU newcomers, including refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection who have been admitted for the first time to stay in France and who wish to settle here permanently.
The Republican integration contract is compulsory. It formalises foreigners' commitment in their republican integration course — which lasts up to 5 years.

Why is it interesting?
Personalised initial interview
You will be received by an OFII auditor in order to assess your situation and your needs, particularly in terms of employment and orientation.
The OFII auditor will prescribe compulsory civic training and language training if necessary.
Civic training
The training lasts 4 days and allows you to learn the values of the Republic and French society. It is organised around 5 themes: "discovering France", "health", "employment", "parenthood" and "housing".
Language training
Each person takes a written and oral test on the OFII reception platform. According to their level in French, one of four different language courses will be prescribed to each person. These courses will be of either 100 hours, 200 hours, 400 hours or 600 hours. The goal is to reach level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Level A1 corresponds to a beginner's ability to communicate in a basic manner.
The end-of-CIR interview
Within 3 months of the end of the trainings, you will be invited to an interview by the OFII in order to take stock of the trainings and to be given information on the local facilities for your integration process, especially for professional integration.
