Apply for a Passerelle University Diploma in Ile-de-France

Proposed by RÉSEAU MEnS Updated on 18 днів тому

The DU Passerelle training program allows people in exile to reach the required level of French to study at university in France.

In Ile-de-France, the MEnS Network and 13 universities offer a single procedure and application form for the DU Passerelle.

The universities are:

  • Sorbonne University
  • Paris Nanterre University
  • Paris Dauphine-PSL University
  • Paris Saclay University
  • Paris-Est Créteil University
  • Paris City University
  • National School of Bridges and Roads
  • Sorbonne Nouvelle University
  • Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University
  • Sorbonne Paris North University
  • Catholic Institute of Paris
  • INALCO
  • Migrens - National Higher School

How to do it?

Each DU Passerelle training course is different.

You can compare the information for each DU Passerelle (French level, course locations, duration and schedule of training, age requirement) on the document here.

To apply to one of the 13 universities, you must apply using the common online form.

The form is open from April 15 to May 31, 2026.
A second application phase will take place from October 12 to 28 only for the B1 level in French for the University of Paris Cité.

On the form, you must fill in information regarding:

  • Your profile (gender, age, nationality, city of residence,...)
  • Your academic background (French level, degree, previous field of study, etc.)
  • your university study plan and your career plan.
There is no need to contact the universities. Only applications submitted via the form will be considered.

At the application stage, no supporting documents are required. If you are selected, the university will request the necessary documents.
If you have any problems with the form, you can contact: du.passerelle.idf@gmail.com

You can choose up to 4 universities.

The preferences must be ranked in order of preference:

  • wish 1 = ++++
  • wish 2 = +++
  • wish 3 = ++
  • wish 4 = +

Your application will be sent to the university that best matches your profile.

Your application will not be considered by the 4 universities you selected.

The platform will analyze your information and the order of your preferences. Your application will be sent to only one of the four universities that best matches your profile.

However, if that university has filled its quota of places, your application will be submitted to another university. To maximize your chances of being selected, your application may therefore be submitted to another university.

What happens next?

You will receive a confirmation email after submitting your form.

Pleas note: emails often end up in the spam folder, remember to check them regularly.

You will receive emails throughout the process to track the status of your application.

For any questions regarding the procedure and your file, you can contact du.passerelle.idf@gmail.com.

If your application is shortlisted, you will be contacted by email by one of the universities to take a language test and an interview.

After the invitation, the university will inform you whether you have been accepted into their program.

If you are not accepted, your application will be placed on a waiting list. If you withdraw from another university, you may be invited to another University Diploma (DU) bridging program.

Please note: the waiting list is only open to candidates who have already been invited to take a test by a university.

Each year, there are far more applications than openings available in the University Diploma Passerelle programs. Universities cannot invite all applicants.
They have to proceed with a selective choices. This never calls into question your career path or your skills.

It is therefore possible that you will not be invited. If this is the case, you will receive an email with links to other French courses available in the Île-de-France region.

You will be able to apply again next year. If you have the option to move to a different city, you can also look at other DU Passerelle programs outside of the Île-de-France region.
