Ask for the production of your driving license

When you have passed the driving test:
- The driving school gives you a driving license examination certificate (CEPC), which allows you to drive for 4 months from the date of the exam (to be presented with an official identity document, such as a residence permit)
- At the same time, you must request the production of your driving license, which is an official identity document.
The pink cardboard B license (old format) remains valid until January 19, 2033 .
How to do it?
You need several documents in digital format (PDF or scan):
- An identity document (residence permit, travel document)
- The driving license examination certificate (CEPC)
- Proof of address less than 6 months old (telephone bill, electricity or gas bill, rent receipt, home insurance certificate)
- The ASSR2 or ASR or a declaration on honour for the issue of a first driving licence if you are under 21 years old
- An e-photo (digital signature photo).
You must download the application form (step 2), print it, sign it, and affix the standard passport photo. You can then send it by post to the address indicated (not by tracked or registered mail).
With the classic ID photo, the processing of your request will take longer.
Be careful, sometimes you also have to send others supporting documents depending on your situation:
- if the license has been stolen: report the theft to be made at the police station or gendarmerie
- if the license is damaged: scanned driving license (front, back)
- if you have changed your marital status (divorce, adoption, etc.): scanned family record book
