Request the transport solidarity reduction in Île-de-France

The Solidarité Transport pricing is a reduction of between 50% (half price) and 100% (free) on the price of monthly public transport subscriptions.

It is offered by the Île-de-France Region and by Île-de-France Mobilités (which handles transport) for low-income families.

People who live with you can also benefit from this reduction depending on their situation.

It is necessary to have a Navigo Pass to use Solidarité Transport. The Navigo Pass is a card with your name and photo, on which you pay and charge a flat rate to take transport (see step 2).
There are solidarity fares in many cities in France. Ask the organization that is responsible for organizing transport in your city.

How to do it?

The online simulator allows you to find out if you are entitled to a discount, depending on your situation.

You must first say whether you receive social assistance, such as RSA (Active Solidarity Income), AME (State Medical Aid)... or whether you have a disability card.

Have a supporting document next to you to complete the information.

Transport in Île-de-France is free for children under 4 years old.
If you have the paid complementary health insurance (CSS with financial participation), you cannot request the transport solidarity reduction.

If you do not have a Navigo Pass

You can make a request:

  • directly on the Internet ,
  • in an agency (write your city on the left of the map, and click on “Navigo Agencies” on the right. Otherwise ask in a large station where the Navigo agency is)
  • or by mail (first pick up a form at a train station).

If you already have a Navigo Pass

Take it next to you to complete the information.

The discount in transport solidarity does not apply to Navigo Imagine R, Navigo Annual, Navigo Discovery and Navigo Easy.
If you are applying for someone who lives with you, they must also have a Navigo Pass.

You must select your situation:

  • I benefit from AME
  • I benefit from CSS without financial participation
  • I am a RSA recipient
  • I am a recipient of ASS
  • I am the holder of ASS and CSS without financial participation
  • I have a disability card ( CMI or ONAC ).
A beneficiary or recipient is a person who receives financial or social assistance.
For each situation, the discount is displayed for you and the people who live with you.

Click on “I continue” to continue your request.

2. Write your Navigo Pass number

You must enter your Navigo Pass number twice to activate the reduction.

Your number is listed under your first and last name, to the left of your photo (look at the image on the site).

It is also possible to make the request by telephone, but the processing of the request is faster on the internet.

To complete your request, you must send certain supporting documents, depending on your situation:

  • If you have free complementary health insurance: a copy of your annual CSS certificate
  • If you have state medical aid: a copy of the AME card
  • If you are disabled: a copy of your disability card and proof of address
  • If you receive RSA: the CAF beneficiary number
  • If you receive ASS: the France Travail number (formerly Pôle emploi)
  • Proof of address (telephone or electricity bill, tax notice, etc.).

Scan the documents. Then, upload the documents at the end of the application.

The Transport Solidarity Agency will review your request and inform you by post or email:

  • Around 10 days if you already have a Navigo Pass
  • 3 weeks to 1 month if you ordered a Navigo Pass.

If your request is accepted, you must load the reduction onto your Navigo Pass before paying at an RATP or SNCF terminal (in all train or metro stations).

  • RATP terminal: place your Navigo Pass on the small blue or purple space and press “Recharge a Navigo card”, then “Delivery of my order”.
  • SNCF terminal in Île-de-France: place your Navigo Pass on the small blue or purple space and press “Transport Solidarity Update”.
You can check at any time that your reduction is loaded onto your Navigo Pass: place it on a terminal and press "View the contents of my Pass".
You can also check the dates of your subscription.

What happens next?

The conditions for renewing the discount are different depending on your situation:

  • If you receive RSA or ASS, the Transport Solidarity Agency automatically analyzes your file in the last month of validity of your rights. You will receive an email, SMS or letter with your new situation.
  • If you have a disability card, you must send your supporting documents every 3 years or when your card expires. You will receive an email, SMS or letter with your new situation.
  • If you have CSS, you must send the updated CSS certificate. It is available on your ameli account (section "My procedures").
If other supporting documents are required, the Transport Solidarity Agency will ask you for them by email or by post, one month before the end of your current discount.
Send them as soon as possible to avoid losing your discount.
You must load the discount onto your Navigo Pass each time it is renewed.
