Le réseau des Carif-Oref, composé de 19 structures, reconnu par le Décret du 22 juin 2021, exerce des missions d'appui aux politiques d'orientation et de la formation professionnelle. Il exerce 7 missions au niveau national: 
1. Organiser la mise à disposition des données pour les Carif-Oref
2. Consolider les informations transmises des Carif-Oref
3. Coordonner les actions de diffusion et la promotion des innovations régionales - emploi - formation - orientation professionnelle des Carif-Oref
4. Recenser les organismes de formation professionnelle et CFA
5. Produire un bilan annuel de l'offre de formation
6. Représente les Carif-Oref
7. Mettre en oeuvre toute action en matière d'information sur l'offre de formation. 

Depuis 2016, le RCO référence l'offre de formation linguistique à destination des primo-arrivants et des réfugiés dans une cartographie nationale https://reseau.intercariforef.org/formations/recherche-formations-dian.html et professionnalise sur le sujet.
