What is it?

AGIR is a housing and employment support programme for refugees in France.

The AGIR programme helps you during the process of integrating into life in France.

You can receive support for:

  • carrying out administrative procedures for you and your children.
  • finding accommodation.
  • finding training to learn French or to learn a trade.
  • finding a job or an internship. This is in collaboration with Pôle emploi (the French government's unemployment service) and local missions (services to help 16-25 year olds find training and/or work).
  • finding solutions to everyday difficulties (childcare, health, mobility).
AGIR support lasts a maximum of 24 months. Signing a binding contract formalises the agreement. You will have a meeting every 2 months and group workshops are organised during your support period.

Why is it interesting?

You can ask questions about and request help carrying out administrative procedures, including:

  • applying for social housing, DALO ('Enforceable Right to Housing'), etc.
  • paying taxes
  • obtaining a driving license
  • opening a bank account
  • obtaining identity documents (residence permit, travel permit)
  • Receive career guidance.
  • Build your career and find a job or training, in collaboration with Pôle emploi and local missions (France Travail).
  • Find and register at a training centre or association to improve your French.
  • Discover support structures for help with employment and professional integration: Pôle emploi, local missions, AFPA, GRETA, etc.
  • Help with finding accommodation.
  • Help with moving in and the steps which follow finding your accommodation.
  • Support to enable you to live independently.

How to do it?

To benefit from this programme, you must:

  • be a beneficiary of international protection (an adult or a minor over 16 years old).
  • have had international protection for less than two years.
  • have signed the CIR (Contrat d’Intégration Républicaine/Contract of Integration into the Republic).
  • live in Val-de-Marne.
People in your family (spouse, underage children, parents), even if they are not refugees, can also benefit from the programme.

If you meet the necessary conditions (see part 1) to benefit from the AGIR program, you can be referred directly by the OFII.
